Are Dairy Snacks ZeroPoint On WW?

Some dairy snacks are ZeroPoint on WW – but not every pot qualifies. I check my personal ZeroPoint list first, then match the exact product in the WW app rather than relying on a ‘high protein’ or ‘low fat’ label.

 • What may qualify: plain fat-free yoghurt and cottage cheese, plus plain quark with up to 1% fat, depending on your programme. Check plant-based alternatives separately.
 • What to track: sweetened, flavoured or higher-fat dairy, cheese snacks, desserts and any toppings that have Points.
 • What to check: the UK ingredients list, nutrition per 100 g, portion size and app entry. The Diabetes Programme has a different ZeroPoint list.

My rule: check the base, then count the extras. ZeroPoint means no Points – not unlimited portions.

Which Dairy Snacks Can Be ZeroPoint?

Plain Fat-Free Yoghurt, Cottage Cheese and Quark

Start with plain, unflavoured options. Check your account’s yoghurt and cottage cheese category for plain fat-free yoghurt, cottage cheese, skyr and fromage frais, where listed.

Check quark separately. Plain quark with up to 1% fat may qualify, depending on your programme. Flavourings or sweeteners may change its points.

Protein and calcium levels vary between products.

Can Soya and Almond Yoghurt Alternatives Be ZeroPoint?

Some plain soya and almond yoghurt alternatives appear on WW’s lists. But they sit outside the dairy category, so check them separately in the app. Added sugar or oils can change their points.

Choose unsweetened, fortified versions, and compare protein and calcium on the label. Fortification alone does not make a product ZeroPoint.

Which Dairy Snacks Need Tracking?

Track any dairy snack that isn’t on your personal ZeroPoint list. The table below covers common dairy snacks and what to check before logging them.

Higher-Fat Dairy Snacks, Sweetened Yoghurt and Desserts

Once dairy snacks move beyond a plain base, Points usually come into play. Don’t assume higher-fat or sweetened options are ZeroPoint. The same goes for cheese portions and snack packs: check the ingredients, nutrition information and exact app listing.

The sugars figure alone won’t tell you whether a yoghurt is ZeroPoint. It includes both naturally occurring milk sugars and any added sugar.

How Toppings and Portions Affect Points

A ZeroPoint base doesn’t make the extras ZeroPoint too. Track honey, sugar, syrups, chocolate, granola, nuts, dried fruit and sauces separately. For ready-mixed pots, scan or select the complete product entry – not just the yoghurt base.

You generally don’t need to weigh or measure a qualifying ZeroPoint food. Any ingredients or toppings that don’t qualify still need to be counted.

How to Check Dairy Snacks in the WW App

Once you’ve checked that the base may qualify, use the WW app to confirm the exact product.

Open your current ZeroPoint list and match the full description, including the fat level. Then scan the barcode or search for the exact product name, choosing the correct brand and variety.

Compare the app entry with the pack’s flavour, ingredients, nutrition information and pack size. Log the amount you ate, and track toppings separately unless they’re already included in the full product entry.

If the barcode result doesn’t match the packaging, search for a more accurate entry or enter the current label information manually. A scan finds an app entry; it doesn’t confirm that the entry matches the label. When app details are unclear, use the UK packaging for the final check.

Programme Rules and UK Food Labels

The Diabetes Programme uses a different ZeroPoint list, so check the list for your programme.

UK labels generally show nutrition per 100 g or per 100 ml. Check those figures and log your actual portion before checking Points.

Read the ingredients list for added sugar, honey or syrups – the nutrition panel alone isn’t enough. The base may be ZeroPoint, but the label and portion determine the final log entry.

Conclusion: Check the Base and Track Additions

Dairy snacks are only ZeroPoint when they meet your current list’s rules and fat-level requirements. Track anything else, including additions.

ZeroPoint means no Points – not unlimited portions.

MyWWList food guides and shopping list printables can help you plan snacks, but check eligibility and Points in the WW app. Check the base first, then log additions separately.

FAQs

Does adding sweetener change my yoghurt’s Points?

Yes – adding sugar, honey or other sweetened ingredients to plain fat-free yoghurt increases its Points. Plain, fat-free Greek yoghurt and cottage cheese are typically ZeroPoint foods when unsweetened.

For a lower-Points snack, try a zero-calorie sweetener such as stevia or monk fruit instead of sugar or honey. Log any additions separately in the WW app to keep your daily total accurate.

AD

Can I add fresh fruit to ZeroPoint yoghurt?

Yes – as long as you use plain, fat-free yoghurt (such as 0% Greek yoghurt) and whole, unsweetened fruit that’s ZeroPoint on your plan.

Flavoured or sweetened yoghurt usually isn’t ZeroPoint. Extras such as honey, sugar, granola or sweetened fruit can also change the points.

Scan the yoghurt pot’s barcode in the WW app to check before logging it.

What if my ZeroPoint list and barcode scan disagree?

Use the WW app barcode scanner to check Points for your current UK plan. Points can vary by brand, flavour, recipe and pack size. Flavoured or fruit-layer yoghurts, and products with added sugar or oil, may not be ZeroPoint.

Make sure you’ve scanned the exact product and selected the portion you’re eating. If the result still looks wrong, compare the nutrition label with the matching WW app entry before logging it.
